Continuation

Television is such a huge part of our lives. The time spent in front of Tv is a huge percentage of time taken out of our everyday. Tv has such a huge amount of information on it that could be very educational, and important but the sad truth about it all, is that people resort to things like for instance 'reality Tv' - which is insane. MTV is no longer a music channel and more often than not bombarded with shows, like 'The Hills'. Television does have a way of reaching out to people, tricking them into thinking that this is "really what happens when ones' boyfriend dumps a girl" - which, in most cases isn't entirely true. Life experiences are there to be experienced not watched on Tv. News nowadays is almost always biased. There is so much pain and suffering going on in the world that only really a small percentage of that is getting to Tv. So much of it is being filtered to the point that it is hard to trust what is said on the news.

Cable. I don't know much about this, apart from the fact that the book talks about HBO, the history channel and MTV. I don't have cable, and I hate all of you that do.

The movies. I am a big fan of watching movies - though I am picky. The movie industry in the states has such a huge amount of money that goes towards it. Hollywood is sometimes what's seen as what drives America. People thrive on the next best movie, the obbssession with Holly wood stars - this 'perfect' look that every girl/man wants. The following link below shows how a little girl's thoughts are altered by the media (its a brilliant commercial from dove) :
